Open Water Diver
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the first step to your diving opportunity, experience, and adventure.
The PADI Open Water Diver course is a performance based course. That means that the course is tailored to your needs and abilities. All concepts and skills are practiced and mastered before moving on to new skills.
Chris Miller, Joe Fuller, and Angie Fuller are all PADI certified instructors who will teach you how to scuba dive. Teamed with Certified PADI Divemasters, there is a wealth of knowledge being put out to ensure that your scuba experience is the best it can be!
There are three parts to the PADI Open Water Diver Course. Knowledge development, confined water diving, and open water diving.
Part One focuses on learning in the classroom. Scuba Too provides with the class an Open Water manual that will be part of your diving library for many years to come. The materials are challenging and fun to learn. The reading is eased by a DVD, which is included in the price of the course! You will display the skills you have learned in the classroom to your instructor. The Classroom work is done the first Saturday and Sunday of every month from 8:00 am to noon at Scuba Too.

PADI eLearning lets you:
Learn by watching, listening, reading and interacting with a dynamic instructional program.

Prior to your practical Water training dives, you will need complete and pass the e-Learning course using the PADI eLearning on-line course
Part Two is conducted in a confined water environment. In the pool, you will take the knowledge from the first part of the course, and master the actual skills in a pool, under the direct supervision of a certified PADI instructor and Divemaster. The confined water dives are done after the classroom work and a one hour lunch break at Central Pool in Waterloo.
Part Three is focused in open water. Four open water dives are required for certification. The dives take place inTurkey Ridge, we can also refer you to the warm Caribbean waters for open water dive training. Open water training is simply a way to confirm your ability to perform skills while scuba diving in an open water environment. Again, you are always under the direct supervision of a certified PADI instructor and Divemaster. The Open Water Dives are done at Turkey Ridge Dive Quarry, the third weekend of the months April-October.
Upon completion of the PADI Open Water Diver Course, you will receive a PADI Certification card (C-Card), the mark of a certified diver who has completed a highly respected course of training. The C-card is required to rent scuba equipment and obtain compressed air fills around the world!
