Cozumel March 9th 2017

Today we gather at the pier to catch our ride to the reef and are treated to Mike Sobel preparing Instructor candidates to join the ranks of PADI Open Water Instructors.

This morning Today we board the Dive Paradise boat Atlantis at 8:30 AM with Gary and Vicky Norman, Bill Layman Ray Hansen  and some new friends.

We head south to Cedar Wall for our first dive. Gatto gives a briefing to a diver decked out in the latest tec gear as he has not been with us yet this week. As Sissy Diver listens in to pick up a few tips (He too might become be a good diver in a couple of years).

Ray finds a Red Lip Batfish early in the dive at about 70 ft. and of course the current is strong where this guy is sitting.

A short while latter we come across a Nurse shark that has found a place to back into for a short rest. Then Jose Chale shows us a Juvenile Spotted Drumfish that shares a hidding spot that is out of the drift with a neighbor with similar markings.

We end that dive with Ray pointing out what he calls a Purple Mouth eel.

Great day on a Caribbean island.

Do you remember when the Green Moray had slithered into Diane Vestsls BC , came out through the armhole, and she had no idea!

Hard to believe this trip started over 20 years ago…..
